OTD

The project is developed around the idea of a transformation that preserves the memory of the place and the history of the building, while proposing new ways of inhabiting the space. In addition, it is designed to optimize workflow and well-being, ensuring an environment that favors both productivity and comfort.

One of the most significant elements of the intervention is the interior courtyard, an oasis that not only organizes the flow of circulation, but also functions as a meeting point between the different spaces of the studio. The courtyard visually and physically connects the more private areas of OTD with the work areas, allowing natural light and ventilation to flow throughout the volume of the building. This relationship between indoors and outdoors not only ensures a healthy environment, but also establishes a smooth transition between the different scales and functions of the space.

The project seeks to maintain and respect the pre-existence of materials and architectural elements. An outstanding example is the recovery of the old carriage door, which has been transformed into a storefront. Similarly, we have preserved the original stone of the pre-existing house. The stone, which was part of the original structure, has been carefully and respectfully incorporated, not only as an aesthetic element, but also as a testimony to the durability and authenticity of the building.

The layout of the spaces is organized in such a way that the most private and concentrated areas are located at the back, away from the hustle and bustle of the open work space. This organization not only favors the privacy of those working in these areas, but also ensures that workers have access to quieter, more secluded areas when necessary, thus optimizing both workflow and well-being. The busiest and most dynamic zones are located in the open and easily accessible areas, creating a balance that fosters collaboration without compromising the tranquility of private spaces.

Likewise, the service belt, which includes the facilities necessary for the operation of the hub, is carefully camouflaged and discreetly integrated into the complex. In this way, workspaces and common areas are kept free of distractions, while the technical infrastructure and services are hidden but accessible, ensuring that the working environment remains clean and organized.
