EMV
The EMV School in La Xara (Alicante) represents an architectural approach committed to the creation of educational environments adapted to contemporary needs. This project is based on a vision that prioritizes functionality and adaptability, where each space is oriented to meet the specific demands of the early childhood educational program, facilitating learning and encouraging creativity.
The spatial distribution has been approached with a reinterpretation of the courtyard house concept, a typology that balances indoor and outdoor areas in a cohesive structure. This approach allows the coexistence of air-conditioned areas with open spaces, promoting a free and fluid transit for children between indoor and outdoor areas. The layout seeks not only to facilitate dynamic learning, but also to connect the youngest children with the natural environment around them, integrating nature as an active element in their development.
The central courtyard, the backbone of the project, is configured as a multifunctional space and a meeting point that encourages both outdoor play and social interaction. The classrooms and other educational areas are distributed around this core, ensuring organic circulation and effective supervision by the teaching staff. The spatial organization allows the outdoor spaces to function as an extension of the classroom, providing opportunities for learning and physical development in a controlled and safe environment.
